About Me
Brandt Thibodeaux
I’m a 5th-generation farmer and 1st generation winemaker, shaped by both the swamps of southwestern Louisiana and the vineyards of the West. I grew up on a 10,000-acre rice and crawfish farm, but often found refuge in the quiet of the swamp behind our farm , where I first learned to observe life as it unfolds, untouched and alive. That early sense of wonder led me to study ecology in college, then spend the next decade as a field biologist across the western United States.
My path eventually brought me back to agriculture, not just as a livelihood, but as a form of environmental healing. I began working in vineyards and orchards, integrating biodynamics, regenerative agriculture, and agroecological principles into holistic farm management. I’ve found that the best solutions are often the most intuitive: simpler, safer, and more in tune with natural rhythms than we’ve been taught to believe.
Today, I work as an agroecological consultant, helping farmers rehab their land, rethink their systems, and reconnect with the ecological intelligence already embedded in their farms. My approach is hands-on, educational, and rooted in long-term soil health, land stability, and multi-generational vision. I listen deeply, to people, to place, to the land itself, and bring integrity, clarity, and care into every project I take on.

My Project: Aquilla Cellars
Regeneration in the High Desert
Aquila Cellars is a living project rooted in the belief that great wine begins with living soil. Set in Colorado’s high desert, the vineyard integrates biodynamic practices, regenerative agriculture, and agroecological design to restore land and craft wines that reflect the place they come from. The wines are made entirely by hand, with no additives, sulfites, or interventions — just grapes, time, and trust in the process. Aquila is both a working vineyard and a long-term study in healing landscapes through ecological farming, observation, and care.
